Today, Yim Store garments are probably the best made in the world. Each process followed is the best known, each item and trim are among the best available in the market.

Craftsmanship: Traditional method of tailoring. Each garment starts with a paper pattern, cut by hand, sewn on single needle machines and hand finished.

Fabric: The very best fabrics, all 100% cotton, primarily from European mills.  

Interlining: Wendler of Germany, the best interlinings in the world. We have also developed some custom interlinings that are used on some of our shirts that require the special look or feel

Threads: Guetermann of Germany, among the best in the world

Buttons: Tall mother-of-pearl made of Australian Shell, among the best in the world

Shrinkage: We prewash the fabric before before making.  All fabrics at Yim Store are washed and carefully ironed before carving it into your shirt. Some fabrics, like Oxford,  shrink more than others. These are washed, dried and ironed 2-3 times before stitching. This reduces the probability of shrinkage. Some fabrics may still shrink upto 2%.

Composition: Data on fabric composition mentioned on our website is provided by the manufacturer or dealer of the fabric we buy from. Though utmost care is taken for the accuracy of the data, there may sometimes be small differences in the fabric composition info.  

Denim: Denim fabrics can sometime bleed a little of the dye. It is the characteristic of natural indigo dyes. 

Knitted Fabrics:

Knitted fabrics tend to expand on usage. Thus, the international accepted tolerance level for knits is 5%. Pique fabrics can expand even more. 

We cut and make the garment exactly as ordered and also try and keep the fabric behavior in mind. Still, a 5-7% difference in size can be expected at different stages of usage during the day.

QA Process: All style and measurement aspects for each garment are checked by the QA team before being dispatched. We check each and every aspect of each and every garment before shipping it to you.  Our internal tolerance for measurements is zero. Due to various factors, garments measurements may differ slightly. Hence, do expect a variation of +/- 0.25" or 6.35mm for every measurement.

During wash and wear cycles, some garments can shrink or expand slightly. We wash and iron the fabric to stabilize its performance. Though rare, a change of upto 2% can sometimes be expected for woven garments. Knitted garments can expand 5% or more. These are within the global tolerance norms for the garment industry.

For garments made incorrectly: We take utmost care to make the items to your specifications. In case you are not happy with the garment, we will alter/remake the same for you, free of cost. Just ship the item back to us at the factory address below. We will do the alteration/remake and ship it back to you.

For garments made as per your specifications: In case you are not happy with the garment even though the style and measurements were as per your specifications, we will alter/remake the garment for you, you are required to pay the cost of alteration and return shipping cost. You will be required to pay for shipping. Just ship the item back to us at the factory address below.
